Gibraltar Acceptance Project reaches beyond classroom

Gibraltar School District seventh- and eighth-grade students are creating poetry, art and short films to teach others about acceptance.

The students are in the midst of the Friends of Gibraltar Acceptance Project. FOG’s theme this year is “celebrating uniqueness.” Seventh-grade students are writing poetry about acceptance and eighth-graders are producing short movies. The seventh-graders are also creating pieces of art to go with their writing.

The finished projects are set to be displayed during a reception and film festival Dec. 10. The plan is to display the art and poems in the Link Gallery of Children’s Art at Door Community Auditorium inside the school.
