Wausau West High School senior Clayton DeChamps took first place at the SkillsUSA Welding Challenge at the Advanced Welding Institute in Eagle River on October 3, 2015. The three-part challenge included a job interview, written test, and a welding exercise. Clayton’s first place finish yielded him a wire feed welder, welding kit, and a $1,000 scholarship to Advanced Welding Institute.
